and then...

It was over. First half of my third semester is officially behind me, and now 4 lovely days of vegging out in the fall goodness of home (such as this evening, chicken pot pie, chocolate chip pumpkin bars, and batman-lego-xbox something-or-rather with my baby brother). Tomorrow? Dentist...

On another note, my latest project for video production has officially taken off...and I am SO excited. I want to get out and shoot it right now. Definitely going to be a lot more work than before, but here's a sneak peek...balloons, forrest frolicking, and perhaps a hot air balloon...

I love my video production class. It's once a week, for 3 hours on a Wednesday, which is actually kind of a killer, but it's so interesting. There are some classes where I don't really care about the material, and view it almost as a chore. But so far all of my comm classes since I started college have been really interesting. It's that feeling of really wanting to learn and to improve and get better. I want my professor to watch my clips and critique what I'm doing, because ultimately, it's going to make me a better film maker. Something I've been realizing lately is that every day that I'm at school, I'm surrounded by hundreds of faculty who have such a wealth of knowledge, while I just passively complete assignments and make sure my grades are up.

Ok, first of all, I'm paying a boatload to go to college (rather, several amazing people in my family are helping me pay for college). Second, I am surrounded by hundreds of faculty who are being paid to teach us, who want us to learn, who want to impress us with their wisdom, who want nothing more to have us ask them questions and 'bother' them. I have one professor who says after every class "Please come to my office hours, I'll give you free coffee". I mean, seriously. I am whacking myself-it's time to seize such opportunities. If you're in school, take the time to sit with your professors and "pick their brain", as I've heard it. These are people who would love nothing more.

(disclaimer-I need to take my own advice, so I'll have to get back to you on how it goes)

Ok, well off I go to continue to plan for this video/enlighten myself via other videos. Can't wait to share with you all! For now, here's a peek at the walls of my room at home! Definitely outdated (most of these photos are 2 years old+!) But all very near and dear to my heart.

and one with my christmas lights turned on in my little corner :)
