This weekend, myself and several of my favorite people road-tripped it down to North Carolina, to SEBTS for their collegiate conference (themed "Gospel & Missions"). Needless to say, it was all kinds of good, which I will divulge in another post (therefore, this is part one).
1. Kickin' in the back seat with Miss Abi, reading our girly books (The Notebook for her, Redeeming Love for me)
2. Some inspiration from the beginning of chapter 9 in redeeming love (which I felt needed to be instagrammed)
3. Abi & Ema ...practicing (?) their handstands :)
4. When groovy tunes play at a gas station, you just gotta dance...and leap over poles
5. Light streaming into the chapel during a beak between sessions
6. Ema fell asleep during one of the last few sessions, so obviously I had to get a pic
7/8. On the way home, I experienced Wawa for the first time. Needless to say, I was pleased (and left out the overly-excited photo of me outside...)
9. Coffee & the Word! As much as we joke about it though, this cup o' joe was particularly delicious, and went perfectly with my read through Hosea this morning on the way home.
This is what I love about being in college. I know it's cliche, but I truly value the fact that I could take a weekend and trek down to NC (what?!) I am inexplicably thankful for the group of people I got to go down with. The conversations, the advice, the laughter and constant joking and "make it or break its", the radio browsing and country-song-knowing, the one too many bathroom stops, and the goodness of the time flying by.
I feel like it's unrealistic to come away from a 'retreat' or a gathering such as this, and say that my whole life has changed. Or to say that I'm going to make a complete 360 and do everything differently.
So I'm not going to say that.
But I will say that God has convicted me, and only by the grace of God will I be able to change habits and change myself. Bible studying, book reading, and waiting on the Lord. These are my convictions.

DeleteI love being able to do road trips too! And they are usually similar, I come away most times saying God has changed my heart and I am so convicted of certain things I was able to discuss with my besties. I love it.
ReplyDeleteI've never had Wawa. Never even heard of it. Maybe it's an East Coast thing? :P
Being in the car=my favorite. Glad to hear that girl :) Wawa is a PA/NJ thing I think? It's just like a gas station with more food, from what I saw, but it was fun to experience it!
